Bath | Spa-Themed Bathroom

A spa-themed bathroom creates a luxurious sanctuary that calls out with open arms to our tired working bodies.  Body washes, bath pearls and salts are only the seasonings for a great spa-themed bathroom, but the main ingredients lie in your bathroom décor.  In this post, we will give you some ideas on how to create your spa-themed bathroom through interior design ideas, and tell you how the House Queen can meet some of those needs!

Colour is the primary element of setting tone and emotions.  Spas typically seem to use blues, whites, tans, and greys to create a relaxing feel.  Greys and tans, both considered neutrals, are becoming increasingly popular as primary paint colours for the walls.

Always remember that repainting a room will be one of the most affordable and dramatic changes that you will ever make in home decorating.

Changing out the bathroom towels, face washers,and bathmats is another great transformation, because we typically display these things within view; especially towels that hang from towel racks as a spa would have.

Picking out your wall colours and soft touches such as towels, bathmats, and washers is your first step.  Next consider other elements that will stand out such as your shower curtain.  In a spa-themed bathroom, you wouldn’t want anything that contains busy patterns.  The purpose is to rest your mind as well as your body, and bright and bold patterns causes your brain to go crazy as your eyes take in different geometric shapes.

Finally, before adding those seasonings, consider a framed in mirror as opposed to a mirror without edges.  You can even construct your own frame out of inexpensive lumber.  Framed mirrors are what many interior decorators are using for added sophistication.  A vase containing a fern or ivy (plant that don’t require a lot of lighting) adds to the relaxing feel.  Be sure to include candles containing your theme colours!  Glass candle containers keep your eyes focused just on the candle itself.  Finally, add your seasonings with those must have bath pearls, salts, and aromatic body washes.  Hand made soaps are both visually appealing as they are nutritious for skin.
